TRADE DEADLINE

I realize I should have sent this out sooner, but I’ve been a deficient commissioner this season. Sue me. Anyhoo, the trade deadline is fast approaching. As in, the deadline is 10 August, 2008. Now, Yahoo(!) is unclear whether the deadline is midnight on the 10th, or midnight on the 9th, so consider it fair warning that it may very well be tomorrow night. There’s already been a fair amount of movement in the last week or two, so I’m guessing there were people paying more attention to that than I was. Good on you.

Well, the idea for a trip to Stade de Yanqui this fall went over like a Chris Hansen keynote at a NAMBLA convention. That’s fine, you’re all communists, I get it. ANYWAY. As a replacement for what would have truly been an epic quest, surely on par with anything Leeroy Jenkins ever attempted, I suggest an “end of the season” meetup for the Saturday, 6 September Giants v. Pirates game. Beer will be drunk, epithets will be tossed like midgets in a bar, and Weston will crowd surf right off the upper deck*. As if that wasn’t enough to sweeten the deal, get this: It’s BENJI MOLINA BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT. That’s right. Benji “The Hunted” Molina. Exited? I thought my pants would never dry!
